The German Design Council offers a unique forum for trans-disciplinary transfer of brand and design expertise.
The German Design Council is one of the world’s leading design competence centers. Its foundation in 1953 followed a resolution of the first parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany that called for the establishment of such a body to promote the competitiveness of German industry and the best possible quality of German products. As a service provider for businesses, the German Design Council supports companies in their brand and design development efforts and communicates the added value of design – in Germany and all over the world. The international German Design Award is conferred annually in various categories.
