DPG
The Voice of Physics
Under the umbrella of the German Physical Society (DPG), interested amateurs meet experts and young scientists meet Nobel prizewinners.
The DPG exclusively and directly serves the fields of pure and applied physics with the aim of bringing its members and all physicists living in Germany closer together and fostering the exchange of ideas among each other and with physicists in other countries. To achieve these goals, the DPG organizes annual meetings, spring meetings and symposiums, as well as Industry Talks at various venues.
Besides promoting scientific dialog, the DPG honors outstanding achievements in physics with prestigious awards, including the Max Planck Medal for theoretical physics, the Stern-Gerlach Medal for experimental physics, the Gustav Hertz Prize for young physicists.
